For fire protection companies

Fire protection inspection software that turns deficiencies into booked work.

Fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher and emergency lighting inspections, in one system. Inspections that come round on their own, forms you design filled in and signed, and the deficiencies you find quoted while the customer still remembers you were there. Built and hosted in Canada.

Sound familiar?
  • Annual inspections kept in a spreadsheet, and a building found overdue when the property manager calls.
  • Inspection reports written by hand and typed up in the office days later.
  • Deficiencies listed on page four of a report, and never quoted.
  • Last year's report for a building that nobody can find.

Built around how a fire protection company runs

A fire protection company is a calendar of inspections that has to be met, building by building, and a steady flow of repair work that comes out of them. The inspections keep the customer, and the deficiencies are where much of the work is. OpSaber is fire inspection software that runs both from the same record.

Inspections that come round

Monthly, quarterly and annual fire alarm and sprinkler inspections are set up once for each customer and come back on their own, as many schedules as each customer needs.

Forms that are yours

Build your own inspection forms and checklists for alarm, sprinkler, extinguisher and emergency lighting work, laid out the way your technicians already record their findings.

Signed and filed

The completed form, with the contact's signature, is filed against the job as a branded PDF. Photos taken on the job stay with it, so what was found is not a matter of memory.

Deficiencies into quotes

Note each deficiency on the job with photos. The office prices the repairs from your own rates and sends a branded quote the customer approves and signs online, and accepting it creates the repair job.

The systems you look after

Record each customer's panels, sprinkler systems and other equipment with make, model, serial number, maintenance schedule and the jobs done on them. Add your own fields, such as where the panel is, so the next technician does not go looking.

Repairs on the same board

Once a repair quote is approved, the work is booked on the dispatch board next to the inspection rounds. The board warns you before you double-book a technician.

From the inspection to the paid repair

What one building's inspection looks like when everything is in one place.

The inspection comes due

The inspection job is created on its own from the schedule and lands on the dispatch board. You book a technician, with their certifications on record so you know whose are current.

The technician inspects

They work through your inspection form, photograph each deficiency and get a signature. Notes, photos and the sign-off on the job still save with no signal in the underground parking.

The repairs are quoted and billed

The office prices the deficiencies from your own rates and sends the quote. The customer approves and signs online, accepting it creates the repair job, and the accepted quote converts into the invoice.

Certifications that do not lapse

Fire alarm and sprinkler work depends on your technicians holding current certifications. Each person's certificates and licences are recorded with their expiry dates, and the ones coming up for renewal are flagged as expiring, so you see them before a customer asks who signed the report.

Reports you can find years later

Inspections are often required by code or by insurers, and the paperwork has to be kept. Signed forms, photos and quotes are filed against the job they belong to, you set how long they are kept, and alerts tell you when inspections are running late. Everything OpSaber covers.

The one thing you do differently

If it is missing, we build it.

Every fire protection company has something it does its own way, from how it groups a portfolio's inspections to how it reports deficiencies to a property manager. Tell us what yours is and we build it into your workspace as a proper part of the system, maintained with everything else.

Fire protection questions

Can OpSaber schedule recurring fire alarm and sprinkler inspections?

Yes. Inspections are set up once for each customer and come back on their own, monthly, quarterly, annually or on whatever cycle the agreement says, with as many schedules per customer as you need. They land on the dispatch board like any other job, and you get an alert when work is running late.

Can the inspection forms match the reports we already use?

Yes. You design your own inspection forms, checklists and sign-offs, laid out the way your technicians already record their findings and the way your customers expect to receive them.

Can we record deficiencies and quote the repairs?

Yes. Note each deficiency on the job with photos, then price the repairs from your own rates and send a branded quote, which the customer approves and signs online without creating an account. Accepting it creates the repair job.

Can we keep a record of the systems we service?

Yes. Equipment such as panels and sprinkler systems can be recorded against each customer with make, model, serial number and warranty, its maintenance schedule and the jobs done on it. You can also add your own fields to customers and jobs.

Can it track our technicians' certifications?

Yes. Certifications, licences and tickets are recorded against each person with their expiry dates, and the ones coming up for renewal are flagged as expiring ahead of time.

How long are inspection records kept?

As long as you decide. Documents are filed against the record they belong to under a retention policy you set, and records are archived rather than deleted, so the history stays intact. More on security and data.
