Questions

Straight answers before you talk to us.

What OpSaber is, how you get started, where your data lives and how the work gets done on site. If your question is not here, ask it: a person reads every message and replies within one business day.

The product

What is OpSaber?

One system for running a service business: jobs and service calls, scheduling and dispatch, field work, quotes, invoices, stock, purchasing, equipment, people and reporting. Every part is linked: an accepted quote becomes the job and the invoice, and hours, photos and correspondence stay with the job. See what it covers.

Which trades is it set up for?

Businesses that send people to a site and bill for the work: installing, servicing, inspecting and repairing. It is set up differently for each trade, because a plumbing company does not run like a property maintenance company. See every trade we set it up for.

What if our business works differently?

Most do. We configure your workspace with the parts you need, and you can add the fields your trade needs and choose the columns, layouts and language so it reads like your business. If something you rely on is missing, we build it into your workspace, maintained and backed up with everything else.

Can customers approve quotes and pay online?

Yes. Your customer opens a branded quote, approves it and signs, with no account to create. If you take payments online, an invoice can be settled the day it arrives. Payments run through a certified payment provider under your own account, and card numbers never reach OpSaber.

Does it work with our accounting?

Quotes, invoices, credit notes and payments are all handled in OpSaber, and it connects to your accounting so the invoices you send arrive where your bookkeeper expects them. Tell us what you use when you get in touch.

Getting started

How do we get started?

With a conversation about how your business runs today and where it hurts. If it looks like a fit, we set up your workspace at yourcompany.opsaber.com with your branding, your people and your data, configured for the work you actually do.

What happens in a demo?

We take a real job from your business, from the first call to the paid invoice, and show you how it would run in OpSaber. It takes about half an hour. Afterwards you get a written summary of what would fit, in what order, and what setting it up involves. More about demos.

Can we try it before we commit?

Where it makes sense, yes. A trial environment is arranged on request, case by case, rather than through a self-service sign-up. It is kept apart from any live workspace, so anyone can click anything without touching real customers or invoices.

Can we bring our existing data across?

Yes. Your existing records come in from spreadsheets and are checked before anything is committed. When you are ready to go live, we bring the rest of your data across and add your people.

What help do we get when we go live?

We stay on the phone through the first week. After that, as your business changes, we change the system with it. Roles decide who sees what, so each person starts with the work they actually do.

Security and data

Where is our data stored?

In Canada. The application, the database and your files all run in the AWS Canada (Central) region, and your data does not leave the country to be processed. More on security and data.

Who can see our data?

Your company has its own private workspace, and your people see what their role allows and nothing else. Two-factor sign-in is supported throughout. Our own access is limited to a logged break-glass path, used only to resolve something you have raised with us.

Is our data backed up?

Yes. The database is backed up automatically every day and kept for two weeks, with protection against accidental deletion, and your stored files are versioned. Every creation, edit and removal is also recorded at the moment it happens.

Can we get our data out?

Yes. You can export your data at any time. If you ever leave, we return it and remove it on a schedule agreed in writing.

Scheduling and the field

What do technicians use on site?

Their phone. They open the day's jobs with the customer's details and the checklist, capture photos, notes and signatures, and run a timer so hours are recorded as the work happens. A printable day sheet is there for the van when that is easier.

Does it work with no signal?

Yes. Work carries on with no signal, in a basement, a plant room or a new build: job status, notes, checklist ticks, photos, hours and the sign-off are saved on the phone and sync when it is back online.

Can repeat visits schedule themselves?

Yes. Repeat visits and maintenance rounds are set up once and come back on their own, onto a dispatch board for crews and individuals that warns you before you double-book someone. See how that works for HVAC maintenance agreements.

Can we use our own inspection forms?

Yes. You design your own inspection forms, checklists and sign-offs, laid out the way your team already records its findings, and once they are filled in and signed they are filed against the job as a PDF. See how it is set up for fire protection inspections.
